EU016: Relationship is Conversation

May 22, 2014

You know how you haven't seen someone in years, months or weeks, and though you know it's been that long it doesn't really feel like it's been that long when you get together?  The conversation picks up right where it left off as if you were just talking to this person yesterday?  That's the awesome thing about a relationship.  They are always current.

You don't have to start and restart a relationship with a person you haven't seen or talked with in a long time.  The relationship is always there.  If you or anyone else you know has "fallen out of relationship" with God, be encouraged in this... it's just not possible.  It's just as easy as saying to a loved one or dear friend..."Hey, let's pick up where we left off."
If you're born into the Kingdom of God... you can never be unborn... you'll always be a son or a daughter.  Yet... even though the door is always open... and someone always calls you home... and will greet you with a welcoming embrace... we must still walk through that door on our own.
(Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling)
In the world of physics, it is known that energy is never gained or lost it simply is transferred or changes form.  In the world of communication, relationships can never end they only change and evolve.  The same goes for a conversation.  The conversation never ends.  It only changes.  Even after Abel was long gone he continued in the conversation.  (http://edifyunify.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/hebrews11.png)
The great news is that any relationship you are in can be changed from what it is to what you desire it to be.  One way to do that is to change the conversation.  Restore the relationship by cultivating the conversation.
In Edify Unify Podcast EU 016 Relationship is Conversation I walk through a prime example of the way God Himself reaches out for us to establish a relationship by engaging in a meaningful conversation.
In this episode you will learn:

* More about Nicodemus
* Ways to improve your conversation with God
* How God can speak to an individual in an audience of thousands

Notes I Used For EU 016

John 2:23-25
23  Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
24  But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25  And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
John 3:1-36
1  There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2  The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4  Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8  The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9  Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10  Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11  Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12  If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
