#24 – Tom Ward

Tom Ward, Sr. has forty years of ministry experience and has been serving as president of Partners In Ministry Inc. for twenty-five years. He is also senior pastor of Eastpoint Community Church of Newark, Delaware.

While pursuing a degree in marketing at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan Tom felt the call of God on his life in his senior year. He enrolled almost immediately in Midwestern Baptist College in 1971 where he prepared for pastoral ministry earning a Bachelors of Religious Education Degree. Upon graduation in 1973 Tom and his wife Gloria left Michigan to plant the New England Baptist Church of West Bridgewater, Massachusetts. During their eighteen-year tenure there the church grew to an average attendance of over 700 per week. During their ministry there Tom and Gloria founded Partners In Ministry in 1978, which has supplied millions of booklets and pamphlets for thousands of local churches on evangelism and discipleship.  

Tom received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist College in 1983. Tom also founded the New England Baptist Fellowship a group of about 150 church pastors who met together once a month for ministry enhancement. From 1993-2000 Tom pastored the First Baptist Church of New Castle, Delaware a church of over 1,000 attendees. Tom is currently the founding pastor of Easpoint Community Church in Newark, Delaware.

Tom has spoken extensively in local churches conducting conferences on Family Life, Worship, and Church-growth. For several years he traveled conducting a men’s ministry that he founded called Life Builders. Tom is passionate about Biblical exposition and has delivered his lecture on The Seventeen Building Blocks of Biblical Exposition to hundreds of pastors as well as college students. His ministry experience has taken him to Harvard University Law School to debate the “Separation of Church and State” and to numerous interviews and debates on Boston radio and television stations. He and his wife Gloria are the editors of Dwell a monthly adult devotional that has a circulation of 2,000 per month and Fuel a monthly youth devotional that is used by 1,000 teenagers per month. Tom is the author of the Life Commitment Discipleship Series, which includes three booklets Seven Steps To Joy, Victorious Christian Living, and Seven Essentials of Prayer.  Tom’s evangelistic booklet “Seven Wonders” has sold over 3,000,000 copies. Tom and his wife Gloria have been married for over forty years and have three wonderful children Tom Jr., Rachel, and Jacob.
