Dr. Junger talks about the fact that when he was going to a young doctor and eating the Western diet, he was on all kinds of medications, and he was feeling all kinds of issues including depression. He went to a psychiatrist who said well, you are not producing enough serotonin; he pointed to his brain. Dr. Junger says in hindsight, “He should have pointed to my gut,
