Down and Dirty Travel

8. Downtown Los Angeles

February 10, 2014

Downtown L.A. ain’t as scary as you may think. In fact, it’s one of the most well-preserved, pre-WWII cities still intact, full of cool art deco architecture and broken neon signs. Our guests Matt Blitz and Scott Garner of Obscura Society L.A. tell us all about such historically significant spots as The Last Bookstore in the old bank district and some great old vaudeville theaters on Broadway that have been refurbished. Of course we have to mention our favorite drinkin’ holes like La Cita, Traxx at Union Station, Salvage Bar for architecture buffs, and Angel City Brewery so let us take you through Chinatown, Little Tokyo, and Olvera Street for Day of the Dead and hopefully you’ll start to love downtown as much as we do…
