Annie Chang Evans walks up to women in Vegas and says, "You should be in my pageant," sort of. She started the Miss Asian Las Vegas pageant, which has changed the way she thinks about women. I sat with her and husband Tom Evans at the Hard Rock Hotel pool and talked about the pageantry and a lot of other fun stuff . She once was Miss Chinatown San Francisco and Miss Asian San Francisco.  She and Tom met at a dayclub party in Vegas, then got together, got hitched, and had some kids. 5:00 — She was miss Chinatown San Francisco and Miss Asian San Francisco and wasn't dramatic like most girls. Promoted herself. Here harder for girls to find sponsors. 
10:30 — Asian pageant winners become very famous in Asia and Hong Kong, like it used to be in America. Women don't pay for anything in Las Vegas.

40:00 — The Asian community in Las Vegas is fighting for domination? Asian newspaper ads. Vegas doesn't always have cohesive communities. People are skeptical of newcomers. 
46:00 — Asian families, Venetian. They have Mr Asia Las Vegas pageants in Asia. She should license Zoolander pageant in Las Vegas. 
48:00 — They met at a dayclub, Tao Beach but he doesn't remember. 
52:00 — Can parents in Las Vegas have fun in the suburbs? Chinatown is growing beyond shopping centers. Vegas isn't white bread anymore. Not a lot of Chinese people in Winnemucca. 
59:00 — We don't pay taxes here so our public services aren't anything like services in the original 13 colonies. Vegas public schools versus private schools. 
62:00 — How to make Vegas better. More involved. Kid sports. I think kids could play violin and skateboarding. 
64:45— What weirdly goes on at the baseball fields near my house. Kids say "Mom" a lot. Downtown Summerlin looks like Alcatraz to me on the outside. 
70:30 — MissAsianLasVegas.com. MsAsianNorthAmerican.com. Pretty, young talented good girls. Parents just want them to grow up and move but Chang wants them to stay and help uplift Vegas. I don't hear the ding ding or see the bikinis anymore.
