The truth is that all mankind was fallen, sensual, and devilish by nature in their carnal state. Natural men & women are enemies to God and belong to the Devil, who has claim on them through the law of justice. The "good news" of the gospel is only a relief for those who humble themselves and first understand the "bad news" of the fall of mankind.
