Hockey and Canada are synonymous.
Unfortunately, the rising costs of the sport are now keeping some Canadians from ever signing up for hockey.
Even worse, some families are borrowing money against their children's post-secondary education to be able to afford to sign them up for hockey.
Like John Aldridge from the Minor Hockey Foundation told me, it's a one in a million shot for these kids to ever make it into the big leagues.
The societal pull to engage in a cultural pastime is wrestling with the increasingly unreasonable price of the sport. Eventually it will reach a boiling point. I have to wonder if we're already past that point.
