The Goldenrod is an often overlooked and maligned herb, but it is highly valuable both as a medicinal herb and as an edible plant.


It grows throughout the US and much of other areas in North America.  With over 150 species it is a plant that will readily cross-pollenate, constantly creating new varieties- most of whom have diuretic, Anti-oxidant, astringent, anti-fungal, anti-septic, rubefacient, and expectorant qualities.


Goldenrod is also a delicious addition to many foods, and some varieties make an excellent tea.


We will discuss this herb in detail as well as information relating to growing, harvesting, and using Goldenrod in foods, teas, and medicinal and nutritive preparations.
