He Ushered In New Creation Realities

February 18, 2013
This entry is part 3 of 3 in the seriesNew Creation Realities

Apostle Paul had a lot of insight into the mystery of the new creation realities ushered in by Jesus Christ’s death on the Cross of Calvary.  And he wrote extensively about them more than any of the other apostles of Jesus including Peter. In his second letter to the Corinthian church, he writes:

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come.â€

~2 Corinthians 5:17

So if you are in Christ, know today that things are different now through what Jesus did on the cross, and also through your faith in Jesus Christ.

Actually, Paul is pointing out two powerful things here:

First of all, when Jesus Christ died on the cross, certain things ceased to be; He abolished the essential realities of the old creation.

And secondly, when He resurrected and ascended to the right hand of the Father, He ushered in a New Creation with new realities. He ushered in wonderful blessings.

“From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.â€

~John 1:16

“When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here, he went through the greater and perfect tabernacle that is not man-made…â€

~Hebrews 9:11

The above scriptures and many more refer to the new creation realities brought by Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross. When Jesus died on that cross, He terminated every reality of the old creation. Every actuality of the old creation – the good, the bad, the ugly;  the strengths, the weaknesses –  all ceased to be. Every essence of the old creation was terminated by the death of Jesus; He abolished them.

And then by his resurrection, He ushered in a new reality.  Thus Apostle Paul says, “the old has gone, the new has come.â€

Praise God!
