Things Are Different Now

February 15, 2013
This entry is part 1 of 3 in the seriesNew Creation Realities

Centuries ago, our planet experienced something remarkable – Jesus Christ, God’s first begotten son walked the earth.  He came into this region of time and space on a mission from the Father.  And through His death on the cross of Calvary, his resurrection from the grave, and his ascension into glory at the right hand of the Father, Jesus Christ ushered in powerful and extraordinary realities. He introduced a brand new creation and brought in astounding and compelling realities into God’s world.

But what I’ve noticed, and now this is unfortunate, is that more than 2000 years later, most believers in Jesus Christ are yet to come to terms with the mystery of the new creation introduced by Jesus. Most believers are yet to grasp the extent of what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross of Calvary. Most born-again folks are yet to fully appreciate and bring to fruition in their lives what Jesus Christ has brought into existence through His death, resurrection, and ascension to glory.

My prayer today is that through this message, the Holy Spirit will open your eyes to see, and your heart to receive this particular revelation; and be transformed by it in the name of Jesus Christ.

Alright,  let’s look at the following scripture:

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come.â€

~2 Corinthians 5:17

The Holy Spirit is simply saying here through the Apostle Paul, that things are different now. Jesus introduced a new order through His death on the cross. Things are different now.

However, having said the above, I want you to pay particular attention to the first part of that verse of scripture.  Apostle Paul writes there: “if anyone is in Christ.”  In other words, the promise and reality of that verse is for a particular set of individuals. It’s not for everybody. The realities of the new creation are for a particular group of people that meet a certain condition.  ”If anyone”; this means whether you’re male or female, old or young, regardless of your race,  the moment you are in Christ, you can enjoy these blessings.
