Your Light Shines Through Good Works

February 13, 2013
This entry is part 17 of 22 in the seriesWhy Does God Work?

“His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms.”

~Ephesians 3:10

You and I are like people put on centre stage. We’ve been put on a celestial platform by God.  The angels, the plants, the animals, the birds, human beings, in short, all of creation are watching us. God’s plan is that through us they will see the glory of the Father. They will see the wisdom of God through us, and praise God. That’s why we should work.

God manifests His invisible qualities through His work. And He says to you who is made in His nature to manifest also, and bring glory to Him.

You express your divinity through work. Reflect on this until you grasp it and begin to walk in this light. It’s through work that you showcase your divinity. There’s no other way. Work is a means of expression. ‘Let your light so shine’, as Jesus said. And why should it shine? So that men might see your good works. Your light shines through good works.

So daily, you should be at your work just like the Father is at His work.  You shouldn’t work to make money or put food on the table, because you already have your supply coming from heaven. You already have your provisions coming from the Father; so you really don’t have to work for those reasons. Rather, work because it is in your nature as a child of God to work.

You work each day to express the wisdom of God so that when you’re done, people look at your work and go like, ‘Wow! This is amazing, glory be to God.’  Thus you begin to teach creation, to show creation, what God is like.
