In the News:

John Biggs over at TechCrunch posted “Kickstarter Funded Nearly 4,500 Projects To The Tune Of $112 Million Last Quarter” with additional information on how the crowdfunding platform funded over 4,497 projects including the Veronica Mars project with over 91,000 backers, 7 Oscar-nominated films and two Grammy-winning music projects in addition to a whole mess of awesome and innovative projects.

Over on DigiDay, John McDermott shared the highlights of a recent Q&A forum in his post “Oculus Rift founder turns to reddit ease disgruntled devotees”.  With the recent purchase of Oculus by Facebook, many supporters were outraged and concerned with the direction the virtual reality system might take.  Concerns about having to have a Facebook account to develop for the Oculus Rift amongst other questions were answered and shared in the post.

Harriet Cummings made a great post on MarketingLand called “Content Marketers: Concrete Steps To Finding Your Brand’s Voice“.   It’s not something we often think about which is why we found this fascinating.  She gives some great examples of how to select language and a “voice” for your service or product when you write about it or talk about across various forms of media.  In other words, are you going to be formal, conservative, and serious?   Or are you going to position your product as cool, edgy, and hip?   Your brand’s voice helps differentiate you in a sea of competition.   Click on the link above and you’ll also find a link to a bigger more thorough article she wrote.
