In which our host sits down with actor Larry Bates to discuss tya vs. adult theatre, the heartbreak of Chicago football, and the pleasures of the comic book movie.
 

Larry Bates is a graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University. Larry has been seen in a number of productions at The Tony award winning South Coast Repertory. Notable credits there include: the world premiere of Mr. Marmalade, Death of a Salesman, Fences, TopDog/Underdog, Motherfucker with the Hat, and Jitney for which he won a NAACP Theatre Award as well as the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Featured Actor. In addition to South Coast, he has been seen in productions and workshops at the Cincinatti Playhouse, Pasadena Playhouse, Mark Taper Forum, The Geffen, The Bootleg Theatre, San Diego Repertory, and The Antaeus Company. 
 

His appearances on stages and on both the big and small screen have given him the privilege of working with a number of talented entertainment professionals. The list includes Caleb Deschanel, Charlie Robinson, Chi McBride, Cloris Leachman, Craig T. Nelson,  Cybil Shepherd, David Boreanaz, Della Reese, Dennis Franz, Elliott Gould, Emily Deschanel, Fred Willard, Glynn Turman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kristin Bell, Lainie Kazan, Linda Gray, Mark Paul-Gosselaar, Nicky Katt, Oliver Platt, Peter Berg, Robert Reford, Rob Morrow, Roger Guenveur Smith, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Spike Lee.
