CCP Ep 2 - Carmen Gomez

October 01, 2014

Chuck sits down with Carmen Gomez, production manager for the UC Riverside Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production to talk about the joy of schedules, the hell of budgets, and the eventual downfall of humankind at the hands of our internet overlord.
Carmen Gomez recieved her BFA in Design from TCU (Go Frogs!) in 1999 and her MFA in design from Texas Tech University in 2002.  After completing her formal education, Carmen worked as a professional scenic painter before accepting a faculty design position at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Florida.  There she enjoyed five years of teaching as well as starting and running a not-for-profit Shakespeare company with her beloved husband (her words!). After that she joined the Theatre and Dance Department at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. Over those four years, Carmen enjoyed working with a number of organizations including The Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian.

"Episode 2 was always an important one for me, almost as much as 1. While episode 1 introduces the show, I always felt somehow that episode 2 should introduce me. What better way to introduce myself than to interview my infinitely better half. If you haven't listened to the podcast yet, episode 2 on October 1 is a pretty good place to start!" --CCP host Chuck Clay
