Keith Littler AMEP update

Keith Littler National secretary of the Australian Motoring Enthusiast Party talks to Cruizefm about the last 12 months in the world of politics.

Keith reiterates that the roots of the party are well and truly motoring enthusiast and that the AMEP is definitely about looking out for the motoring enthusiast and by default the wider motoring community in Australia.

The achievements of the AMEP over the last 12 months are not overtly visible, the work in the background at federal level is scoring some important goals, just after the last election the car manufacturing industry was turned inside out and the ramification of that, will affect the whole motoring industry, the AMEP and Senator Ricky Muir in many ways have ended up in the right place at the right time to help shape the future of cars and car enthusiasts in Australia.

From a federal level there many directives that are causing issues at state level, for example the ADRs will play a different role in an Australia without car manufacturers.
The AMEP is forwarding some ideas that may not have been thought of, like seriously looking at some of the initiatives that Britain has in place for their motoring industry which likewise had a reduction of  vehicle manufacturers , the British car industry relies a lot on the innovative privateers that can engineer cars and vehicles and have them on the road without heavy legislative impediments.

What ever car enthusiasts have to live with as far as legislation and media vilification, it has to be understood that nothing was being done to counteract it in a concerted way for many years, back in the late 70s early 80s the “Hot Rodders” went through a similar period and they has to unite to be able to drive their vehicles on the road, we are in many ways at a similar crossroads and the AMEP is facilitating the modern car enthusiast unification.

The AMEP will be at the ACMC QLD Showcase at Rocklea Showground on October 19th.

ACMC SHOWCASE 19th October 2014

This Sunday, the ACMC Qld is holding an event at the Rocklea Showgrounds; a celebration of our cars, our passion and our lifestyle; an event which not-only has the blessing of the authorities, but will also see their active participation and involvement.

Police and transport inspectors will be participating in the event with their own displays, and are going all-out to bridge the rift between themselves and the motoring enthusiast community in what could only be described as a big step in the right direction.

Many senior officers from both departments are acknowledging that cooperation and consultation with our community is perhaps a far-better solution to motoring issues than the ‘big-stick’ approach we have seen in the past. Here is an opportunity to ask questions of police and transport inspectors on our own turf; maybe we can all learn something on the day. How things change…
