Lets pretend a Battery is a Plant! With the magical power of legislators

At first I suspected it …

Then the evidence was mounting.

Questioning and investigating shocked me.

I could not believe what I found, was it really possible?

I thought it was Them, but in reality it is Us

What? you say

We Have Gone MAD..

In what universe does:

A battery with an LED light and a low temperature resistor essentially making a mini fog machine.

Equal to:

A plant called “Tobacco”, that is grown, dried and then rolled with paper and then physically burned.

I know that the majority will simply read the Queensland Health story below and Believe the rhetoric but trust me I did experiments lol a battery is not a plant…

“”Mr Springborg said Queensland would become the first Australian state to treat e-cigarettes the same as traditional tobacco.””

Queensland today became the first state to subject e-cigarettes to the same laws as regular cigarettes.

Health Minister Lawrence Springborg said a Bill introduced to Parliament today would see amendments to the Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Act 1998 (the Tobacco Act) become effective from 1 January 2015.

“Liquid nicotine, used in some e-cigarettes, is already illegal in Queensland,†Mr Springborg said.

“These new laws will ensure that e-cigarettes are not sold to children, not smoked in smoke-free indoor and outdoor public places, and not advertised, promoted or displayed at retail outlets.

“This early, preventive action addresses public health concerns about these products including their use in smoke-free places, the unknown health effects of use and exposure, and potential for a new market of smoking.

“Like regular cigarettes, the Tobacco Act amendments will not ban these devices outright but will subject them to tough restrictions.â€

Mr Springborg said the evidence regarding the short and long term health effects of direct or second-hand inhalation of vapour from e-cigarettes was still developing.

“However, unlike the delay in responding to the dangers of tobacco smoking we have an opportunity to take action now to protect the health of Queenslanders,†he said.

A World Health Organisation report in August 2014 stated there was sufficient evidence to caution children, adolescents and pregnant women not to use them, given the potential for nicotine exposure to have long-term consequences for brain development.â€

To date, the evidence for the effectiveness of e-cigarettes as a method for quitting is limited, and there are no e-cigarettes on the market that have been approved as therapeutic products for stopping smoking.

The new laws will primarily be enforced by Queensland Health environmental health officers who will be able to ask smokers to stop, give a warning or issue an on-the-spot fine of around $220. Penalties to retailers will also apply.

Truth is funny
