How to Help Seniors Get Financially Organized

Today's show discusses the ways in which we can help the senior citizens in our life get everything in order.Here are the documents you need to have at your disposal:Social Security Card
Birth Certificate
Driver’s License
Passport or Citizenship papers
Military records
Financial documents, including bank account numbers
Copies of the deed to your real estate and title to your car
Life Insurance policies and retirement accounts
Inventory of personal property of value
List of all of your debts, including the names of creditors and account numbersYour loved ones should take care to have the following documents properly drafted, and ensure that they are legally correct and binding:Power of Attorney
Health Care Agent
Medical records
Last Will and TestamentIt's useful to sit down and talk with your loved ones about funeral arrangements, including the details of any advance arrangements you've already made. Beyond that, you should be sure to have your wishes outlined - if you want to have a huge party and be cremated, that should be in writing.Finally, we talk about document storage, and why it's a terrible idea to keep your paperwork in your safe deposit box.
