Tech Talk Roundtable 07-19 | Lessons Learned Through Online Learning

May 17, 2020

Description
Imagine emerging from six months of complete isolation asking, “So, anything new?” Would you believe what people told you? From the ongoing horrors of the headlines to pithy memes like, “Imagine if you will a dystopic future in which Cinco de Mayo falls on Taco Tuesday, only to be ruined by a virus named after a Mexican beer.” All true, all deeply unsettling, and all the more reason to plan for a future in which our “normal” has become the “old normal” and we move into a speculative “new normal.” Today, the Concordia Ed Tech Roundtable team lifts its gaze past the present problems to plan for a post-pandemic planet. As Abraham Lincoln once told us, “The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present.” So, what lessons will we learn as we move forward, into the 2020-21 school year and beyond?
Lessons Learned
Dennis - Zoom Security/Canvas Integration

Chris - Breakout rooms in Zoom

Daniel - For me, a new Apple keyboard feature on iPad devices. No longer need the shift key to get to other symbols and numbers.  Just press and drag down on the keyboard to bring forward the symbol or number.
