Larry Turkheimer, along with the LA Tri Club, created an awesome program four years ago called The Coast 2 Coast Swim Challenge, which is coming up on June 1st the at Culver City Plunge. The goal is for participants to donate to a great cause -providing free swim lessons to underserved kids – while getting in a great workout themselves. This year the Ironman Foundation has partnered up with the LA Tri Club to bring the program to pools all over the country. This year there will be 18 other Tri clubs participating between May 1 and June 30. The goal is to have everyone swim a combined 2,462 miles -the distance between LA and New York City. In the past three years, over 2,500 kids have been taught how to be safe in the water and how to swim. For more information go to www.coast2coastswim.com
