What is Thunderbird and How Can It Help You?

Kellie begins the episode by explaining what Thunderbird is, and how it metamorphosed into the organization it is today. She shares a quote from an early President, which is the heart of what Thunderbird is about. Kellie goes on to relate how that quote applies not only Thunderbird as it exists today, but also how it applies to businesses worldwide.

Matt and Kellie graduated from Thunderbird in the same class 10 years ago. In the time since, they have traveled the world together and formed a strong friendship. The conversation then segues into a discussion about Thunderbird for Good, a non-profit program that Matt claims has changed not only the industry, but also the world.

The Thunderbird for Good program has had an amazing footprint. Kellie shares what types of students are likely to join it, and how many graduates the program has had from around the world.

Project Artemis and the Marketing Industry

First aimed at Afghan businesswomen, Project Artemis is a two-week business education program to help women get businesses up and running. Kellie explains how these businesses have transformed over the years.

The women involved in Project Artemis are exposed to top tier business leaders. They also complete specific activities during the program to gain real world experience as well. Kellie explains that these women then take their new skills back home where they put the knowledge into action. Several of these women have become real success stories, one even inspiring a book that Kellie mentions during the podcast.

Starting a business is hard enough in a first-world areas of North America. As Matt points out, women from these other countries face more adversity and diversity than we can comprehend. These women overcome challenges both in starting a business as well as keeping it going.
