cbuzz: Lynette Smith, Securidine Logistics LLC: Logistics Solutions, Collaboration, and Partnership

Lynette Smith is the CEO & President of Securidine Logistics LLC, founded in Columbus, OH in 2020. In her role, Lynette provides strategic, financial, and operational leadership to meet the company’s objectives. In addition to leading Securidine Logistics, Lynette serves as the Chief Sales Officer for UNIK Logistiks, a logistics and transportation consortium that leverages capacity, also founded and based in Columbus, OH. Securdine Logistics is a UNIK Logistiks network member. Lynette is a systems strategy, process improvement, and operations specialist with Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen training. She has a keen eye for prepared analyzing and providing data & metric-driven solutions for challenges faced in the business world.

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Lynette has spent over two decades in the industrial supply chain manufacturing industry in a business development capacity. Most recently, she managed a$27MM book of business providing Worthington Industries’ engineered cab solutions for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) mining, agriculture, military, & heavy equipment. She was recruited to join Worthington Industries after a successful career as a Packaging Equipment Specialist, a highly technical sales professional focused on automation, with 3M Company. At 3M, Lynette managed a newly created geographical territory that was valued at $12MM upon her exiting the company. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning; market research and competitive analysis; process improvement; contract negotiation and implementation; relationship building; and business development. As a top performer within her division, Lynette earned 3M’s Super Achiever Award status for two consecutive years, recognizing her as the top sales professional nationally within her product specialty. She consistently tracked at #1 or #2 on the sales leaderboard throughout her career. In addition to her sales role, Lynette took on various leadership roles while at 3M. She served on the leadership team for a regional sales connection of her peers, was invited to 3M headquarters to participate in strategic planning sessions, was selected to host 3M’s international guests within her region and was recognized monthly for her sales contributions and closed projects.

Prior to joining 3M Company Lynette was an elementary school teacher where she taught Indiana state standards to students and prepared them for standardizing testing. During her time at the Timothy L. Johnson Academy, a charter school, her students improved their test scores by 20% year over year. Lynette is passionate and advocates for youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and education.In addition to her professional experience, Lynette has played an active role in the Columbus, OH community. She is a graduate of the Central Ohio United Way’s Project Diversity Cycle 20 class as well as the Ray Miller Institute for Change & Leadership. She has been an active mentor and leader with the NBMBAA’s Leaders of Tomorrow program, accompanying mentees to national business case competitions and conferences, and most recently served as the Vice President for the program. Lynette has also been a contributing author for the NBMBAA Columbus Chapter’s online magazine.She holds an undergraduate degree from Indiana University’s Bloomington, IN campus and an Executive MBA from The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business, where she was a member of the Executive Council for cohort 15. She is an Indiana native and has been part of the Columbus,OH community for nearly two decades. Lynette has one son, Damon, who attended Norfolk State University, is a US Army veteran, and entrepreneur as well.
