The worth of our giving to God is measured not by amount but by value. The woman in this story gave all she had. By giving her last two cents, she was placing herself fully in God’s hands. She could not give any more. It was everything that she had. Does this mean give away everything? No. What it means is that we do not need to be afraid that what we give is not enough because it is not enough. God looks at our gifts and sees the value based on our heart. What we give is worth so much because we are putting it in God’s hands and letting Him make it into something more than it could be in our own hands.
