Bill Cosby Sues His Accusers
Bill Cosby has been in the news recently, but not for his comedy or his TV show. He’s been accused by more than thirty women of sexual assault. At first when a celebrity is accused of something it’s easy to think that the accuser is after fame or money. But it’s difficult to deny the fact that multiple women, who essentially have nothing to gain from accusing him have come forward and all their accounts are very similar. I think this is a huge shock to people because Bill Cosby has always been perceived as a moral person. Someone who always talked about the ills of society, whether it be rap music giving African-Americans a bad image or just people behaving with manners. He was an enormous influence on comedians and a lot of people looked up to him. So when this all came to light, it was heartbreaking to say the least.
Flint Michigan Water Contaminated With Lead
We also talk about how the city of Flint, Michigan has declared a state of emergency because a significant number of children have been rushed to the emergency room with high levels of lead in their blood. They tested the water at various schools and found a high concentration of lead in the water. The cause is still unknown and hopefully everyone who was affected will be OK. At the end of the episode we talk about how the RCMP refuses to reveal how much or how little they are using a device that can listen in on phone calls and text messages.
