Stephen Colbert's first week on the late show has been successful. His first episode was a little rough, but he's settling in nicely. His character on The Colbert Report seems to have crossed over on the new Lat Show. At first it was disappointing because he seemed to be a one-trick pony. But then you realize that that's his real personality and that he's being his true self. The character on The Colbert Report, although a parody of a conservative pundit, had a lot of the real Stephen Colbert's personality traits.
