Today I am chatting with my good friend, Lilit Pilikian. Lilit a first-generation Armenian born in Los Angeles and went to Armenian private schools up until 6th grade.

Growing up, she was good at two things: math and art. One day, she realized she could do both together, and that led her to Otis College of Art & Design.

As an Industrial Designer, she has primarily worked in consumer electronics, most recently on cutting edge tech toys at Mattel.

Lilit has also worked in User Experience as part of the Innovation team at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, and as a production designer on a host of film sets.

She believes in improving the world around her through creative thinking and problem solving. No matter where she goes or what she does, she thinks differently, and thinks that is in no small part because she is Armenian.

Lilit met her husband in high school, and they’ve been close collaborators ever since. Their latest project is a documentary, 100 Years from Home, about the search for her great-grandparents’ long-lost house in Turkey 100 years after the Armenian Genocide, which will be airing on PBS SoCal September 1st at 8:30PM.
