The story couldn't have been scripted any better for Greg Oden in China. A lot of credit goes to the team that gave him a chance, the Jiangsu Dragons. The organisation is allowing Oden to take his time and not rush back onto the court. Oden appreciates that, and when his number is called, he's giving it his all.

In Nanjing, China, Greg Oden and teammate Marshon Brooks are blending into the Chinese culture on and off the court. Brooks has become one of the CBA's most prolific scorers while Oden is a rebounding machine grabbing around 20 rebounds every time he steps on the court. Their coach Mehmed Becirovic is one of the most respected international basketball coaches having coached Iran's national team to a 2013 FIBA Asia championship.

Oden has only played in four the of team's 18 games. The team is allowing him to slowly get back into game shape. They use him whenever they play against lower ranked teams such as the Bayi Rockets (Chinese military team) who elect not to sign a foreign player.

This season, Oden is averaging 15 points (shooting 49 percent from the field) and 16 rebounds per game according to asia-basket.com. Jiangsu sits 16th overall in the CBA standings.
