After a few years of trying NC was finally able to remove a few important restrictions on concealed carriers.

Now the media is crying that there will be blood in the streets... you have heard it before. The biggest complain though seems to be a concern that the pistols in the cars on campus could be a target for theft.

Um... Uh...

That has been my issue with the prohibition on restaurant carry for years!

Why was it ok then but not now?

If you want to keep them under control let them be carried in the school!

I also rant about the meme that concealed carriers need to be trained.

This comes from both sides that anti's want us to be as trained as police officers, which is a woefully low standard and is a indication they don't know what they are saying. A badge does not make a person honest, responsible or a firearms expert.  As evidence I reference a number of officer shootings in the past year that show a lack of training.

The flip side comes with experienced shooters that suggest that everyone needs training.

It is a good idea, no doubt... but it can be dangerous and legitimizes the argument.

If there is a training requirement, it be set anywhere or be based on anything.... not good!
