Serdar was born in Turkey, in a city at the Black Sea region, in the fall of 1980. Due to his father’s job, he grew up in multiple cities throughout his childhood, including Istanbul, Ankara and Paris. Thanks to those domestic and international moves, he experienced international friendships and cultures from a very young age. He graduated from computer engineering and worked as a software engineer for over 10 years. Recently he changed his focus and now works as a Scrum Master/Agile Coach at Coolblue.

He moved to the Netherlands in 2008 and has been living in Utrecht since. He now lives with his partner, Barbara, Baby Oscar and their pet dog. He likes meeting new people, playing computer games, Japanese culture and cuisine, sci-fi, neuroscience and psychology.  In today’s episode, Serdar and I talk about his journey into fatherhood – a dad’s perspective and what he did to prepare himself to be ready for becoming a parent and also to be a support person for his partner Barbara, in the laboring room and beyond.
