#103 | Dycee Wildman | Defy Film Festival

September 03, 2020

A Nashville native, Dycee Wildman is a director / writer with a love of the unusual and spooky. her work is influenced by filmmakers who dabble in the absurd, such as Miranda July, Hal Hartley, and Vera Chytilova, as well as directors who explore darkness, Roman Polanski, Wong Kar Wai, and Lynn Ramsey. Growing up in the south she developed an aesthetic sense that is derived from the natural world, but her interests skew consistently to the grisly. In addition to filmmaking she fosters the arts community by co-founding the Defy Film Festival and working collaboratively with Daisy Dukes Films.
