On today’s podcast we’ll discuss the following:
▶ General News: Rachel Maddow broke “the story” about Donald Trump’s tax returns. Not impressed. Threat of violence increase from the left. Trump presents his budget to congress; congress was not impressed – basically because of the cuts that were proposed. Repeal and Replace of the ACA continues. Not much traction there yet. And criminal immigrants are withdrawing from benefits for fear of being deported.
▶ Economics: The Fed raised its key short-term interest rate to a range of 0.75% to 1%. The U.S. hit its debt limit again on Thursday — a whopping $19.9 trillion. The media now reports that a stock market correction is imminent. We’ll discuss unemployment and what it REALLY is… or what it REALLY isn’t.
▶ Global Issues: The US intelligence officials and the Defense Department are anticipating that North Korea will soon undertake a new round of testing of its missile and nuclear program. Japan considers more muscular military role to counter North Korea. China and Pakistan on Thursday agreed to continue and further increase military cooperation. The Pentagon has considered increasing the U.S. military presence in Syria by up to 1,000 troops. Israel’s next big war is almost certainly going to be against some combination of Iranian, Syrian and Hezbollah forces. Iran is being all buddy-buddy with China and Russia and the Middle East is in for turbulent times if things continue.
