▶ General News: So let’s talk about Trump’s speech the other night. Trump said that everything was broken but that we can fix it. Unfortunately, it’s going to take some teamwork… teamwork that the Democrats (and even some Republicans) don’t seem willing to provide. We’ll talk about “Fake New” for a bit as well. We’ll talk about the mental disorder known as “liberalism”.
▶ Economics: Stocks surge! The DOW shot up 303 points to close out at 21,115 the other day. What does this mean? Trump’s speech, which was delivered Tuesday night, was widely praised for its positive tone but lacked specifics about tax reform and deregulation, two key components of the market’s postelection rally. We’ll discuss some of CNN Money had to say. Fed Futures are now pricing in more than a 70% chance that a hike is coming in March. Buffet sent a warning to investors. Chief executives and other corporate insiders are selling stock hand over fist. Your 401k’s and pension are at risk.
▶ Global Issues: Russian aircraft mistakenly bombed Syrian fighters who were being trained by the United States. An internal White House review of strategy on North Korea includes the possibility of military force. The Navy’s Third Fleet is in the South China Sea.
