On today's show we are talking to Monalisa Okojie, the founder of Upward African Woman, a non profit that has committed itself to establishing and supporting programs that focus on poverty, illiteracy and hopelessness, to improve the lives of African women and children.

Upward African Woman is providing education and vocational training ensuring the women have marketable skills, allowing them to be employable, or start their own business. With either option, they are on the road to relative economic independence.
