Kevin Laue is the first player to receive a D1 scholarship with a disability.  Kevin was born with his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, his left arm pinned in between his neck and the umbilical cord allowing him to breathe and ultimately survive.

Kevin's story is one of inspiration and determination.  His parents divorced when he was young and his dad passed away.  He was cut from his 7th grade basketball team because, "basketball is a two-handed sport" the coach told him.  The only coach that would take him was a high school AAU coach.  So Kevin, at the tender age of 14, was playing with high level 18 year olds (he talks about getting dunked on routinely).  His senior year in high school, he broke his leg and lost all interest from college coaches.  He enrolled in a prep school to prove that he had what it takes to compete at a D1 level.  Kevin received a D1 basketball from Manhattan College.

Kevin travels the world sharing his story.  He has spoken in front of the UN, at Google Engagements, and at the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics just to name a few.
