Val has begun the adventure of becoming a professional triathlete.  She recently graduated from the University of Michigan with Undergraduate and Masters degrees in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.  After walking on to the swim team her Freshman year, she was voted Team Captain Senior year while qualifying for BigTens and scoring a point for the Wolverines in her final collegiate race.
