Every Day Is A New Day In Christ ~ Episode 287

How exciting to wake up every day and do it over. “This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118: 24

It can be a chance to make a new habit, spiritual or personal. We can use the new day to get closer to our relationship with Christ and dig deeper. Or we can waste our day and then long for a new day to start again.

Renew Your Mind

Each day, our list of things to do gets longer and longer. I used to track everything in a notebook, and now I use a combination of notebooks and apps on my phone, yet I don’t find myself getting any further ahead. In fact, I think sometimes I become distracted. This is one more thing to add to the list of areas of improvement. If you are like me, you are harder on yourself and expect more than you expect of others.

What is your goal? Is it to spend time with God?

We tend to get excited in a new calendar year but slowly lose that ambition as the year continues on and find, mid-year, perhaps, that we are far away from our goals to grow closer to the Lord. This year, I am going to challenge you and myself to keep that determination moving forward during the year. Not only can we begin again, but we can begin with renewed hope. I love the word “Hope.”

New Day In Christ

Scripture is full of hope and the realization that Christ has made us new; in fact, the Bible says if we are in Christ, we are a new creation. If our goal is to make every new day in Christ special, we begin being here. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we read, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” But what is that passage referring to? It tells us in verse five that the Spirit was given as a first installment. This is in reference to the Holy Spirit, God. Let me read the entire section from 2 Corinthians 5:5-10 (read on air.)

Now the one who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a first installment.[a][b]So we are always courageous, although we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yet we are courageous, and we would rather leave the body and go home to the Lord. Therefore, we aspire to please him, whether we are at home or away. 10 For we must all appear[c] before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive recompense, according to what he did in the body, whether good or evil.

New Day In Christ ~ 1 Corinthians 5:

We can be successful in our new day in Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit. The verse tells us so many wonderful things.

  1. The Spirit is the first installment.
  2. We are to be courageous – because this is not the end. Our world is not our home. (Calendar)
  3. We are in this world, but we do not need to be in this world. This means we can live our lives, but we must remember that this is not the end, and heaven is our goal.
  4. We walk by faith and not by sight. We do not need to see it to believe it. Faith is belief in what is not seen. If we could see it, we would not have faith to believe. We are confident in our love of God the Father, the Son- the Christ and the Holy Spirit. We have been called by name, and we rest in the assurance of this. What wonderful news.
  5. We want to please God; now, we have a chance each and every day. Wake up and give your day to the Lord. Offer it up.
  6. We will be judged at the end of time. When we die, we have finished the race, and now we await the judgment.

Being a “good person” is not enough. We should want to aspire for more than that.

Each day, we can go about our routine. Get up, praise God. Get dressed, praise God. Go to work. Praise God. The joys and praises of the Lord should be on our lips at all times. How do we do this? By His grace. Isaiah 40:31 states:

They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength,

    they will soar on eagles’ wings;

They will run and not grow weary,

    walk and not grow faint.

God gives us the renewal of strength so that we will not only run and not grow weary but we will soar on eagles wings!

Malachi 1:11 (Read on air). Each day the Lord reminds us that from the beginning of the day until the end of the day His name will be proclaimed among all of us who follow Him.

From the rising of the sun to its setting,

    my name is great among the nations;

Incense offerings are made to my name everywhere,

    and a pure offering;

For my name is great among the nations,

    says the Lord of hosts.

And what about Ephesians 4:20-24 (Read on air.) We are asked to put away our former selves. The person you were yesterday or the day before. That person is a new creation; that person has been reminded that we worship the one true God. You are ready to learn and dive deeper, and you are ready for what th

That is not how you learned Christ, 21 assuming that you have heard of him and were taught in him, as truth is in Jesus, 22 that you should put away the old self of your former way of life, corrupted through deceitful desires, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and put on[a] the new self, created in God’s way in righteousness and holiness of truth.

I challenge you to make your list of new day scriptures, jot these down in your prayer journal, and read them daily. Better yet, record yourself reading these scripture verses and listen to this recording daily. It will help you to become a prayer warrior and live each day to the fullest! And I pray we can remind each other to begin each day in prayer and praise, and how much better our day will become.
