Paris Crenshaw: Trail of the Apprentice – Adventure Party #46

January 24, 2017

Paris Crenshaw joins the Adventure Party to talk about his new project called Trail of the Apprentice. You're the lowly 'apprentices'. in your varied professions. Something happens that makes you have to become a hero via trial by fire. You'll be an apprentice no more. It's a setting for both Pathfinder and D&D 5th Edition. The five campaigns will be able to level your character from 1 to 5. This is a great jumping off point for new or returning games.

He is also a freelance writer, editor, and game designer who has credits in more than 15 publications from several publishers. These publications include Paizo, Savage Mojo, Clockwork Gnome Publishing, and Legendary Games. Most recently, he was the author of the first module in the Legendary Beginnings line, entitled Into the Feyweald. Since 2013, he has also been the assistant editor-in-chief for Wayfinder, the semi-annual fanzine for the Pathfinder campaign setting. He has been involved with tabletop RPGs since 1984 and has almost ten years of professional freelancer experience. Paris is also an officer in the U.S. Navy, with over 20 years of service. He and his family live in San Diego, CA.

Yggdrasil is a cooperative game for 1-6 players. Your objective, to stop the forces of evil from destroying the World Tree, Yggdrasil. If the tree is destroyed, the Nine Worlds will fall. Will you protect the tree as Odin, Freyja, Thor, or any of the heroes of Asgard? Will you stop Loki, Hel or Nidhogg in time? Can you get the Elves and Dwarves to help you in your quest to protect the realms? Only one way to find out.
The game was made by Z-Man Games, the people who created Pandemic and Dead of Winter.

We shine the spotlight on the new board/card game called Ravingspire. The board is circular and rotates throughout the game, which was an interesting mechanic that drew us into looking closer at it. You must build your deck and plan your moves as you attempt to enter the mad wizard's tower and attempt to defeat him. It seems like there are a lot of ways they can grow the game, with possible future expansions.
