Social Media In The Classroom

August 21, 2015

More and more schools are getting aboard the social media train. The rise in main stream popularity of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter has made it all but impossible to avoid. The use of social media within schools can help in engaging your various constituents, starting a conversation, and spreading news. Apart from the time commitment to keep your account updated, the cost is right around free while the rewards can be oh so plentiful.

This week’s podcast features special guest Dawn Martinez, Assistant Principal/Director of Advancement of St. Anne Catholic School, an elementary school in the heart of Houston, TX. We discuss some of the hesitations schools have with social media, why the use of social media is important, and what type of content is best for posting.
