Festival extravaganza! On this independant film filled episode, Dr. Andy returns to the studios after a brief hiatus and he and John talk about 3 different film festivals: “Translations”, “50 Hour Slam”, and “SIFF”, as well as a review for the documentary “Man Made”.

After the review for the new documentary “Man Made”, Dr. Andy and John go over the details of the 50 Hour Slam competition and festival and each give their top 3 picks of the festival, and I highly encourage people to check out all of the festival links below!
The three different film festivals talked about in this episode vary in location, size, and length, but are all fantastic in their own way.

* “Translations” (www.threedollarbillcinema.org) runs from May 3rd – 12th and this is the 13th annual transgender film festival and is a groundbreaking film festival that provides the Pacific Northwest with a venue for films by, for, and about transgender people and the issues facing the transgender community.
* “50 Hour Slam” (www.50hourslam.com) is an annual film competition and festival open to all filmmakers in the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene area, which had it’s 8th annual festival screening on Friday, May 5th at the Bing Crosby Theater in Spokane, WA. The filmmakers will have exactly 50 hours to complete a 3 to 6 minute movie; starting from the writing and development process all the way to the final editing stage.
* “Seattle International Film Festival” or “SIFF” (www.SIFF.net) runs from May 17th – June 10th and features more than 400 films from 90 countries and boasts an astonishing 145,000+ attendees! The largest and most highly-attended film festival in the United States, now in its 44th year.
