The Ugly Underbelly of Racial Bias in the U.S. Senate
Senate review of U.S. Court of Appeals candidates don’t usually attract attention, but thanks to a recent article by Kasia Szymborski Wolfkott, Senior Counsel at the Brennan Center for Justice, entitled “Treatment of First Muslim Federal Appellate Nominee Has Damaged Our Institutions” we have learned about how Republican Senators’ insinuations that Pakistani-born (but U.S. citizen) attorney Adeel Mangi supports Islamic terrorism, along with attacks on his pro bono work represent a “grotesque spectacle” of racial bias.
