(Yes, this post is going up pretty late, but considering the last 3x2cast went up only yesterday, at least we’re getting back up to speed….)


Today, we talk about another reason it’s really cool to live in the future. And that is because news coverage and even criminal investigations are becoming crowdsourced, and then disseminated via social media. A perfect example of this appeared amidst the tragedy of the Boston Marathon bombing, where most of the good footage was captured by the myriad of cameras. Only a couple days later, a devastating explosion in Texas was also caught on a phone cam and spread across the country within hours.


This particularly strikes us, because video cameras were still relatively rare when we were young, mostly tape-eating, battery-sucking contraptions that could only get disseminated if you took a physical copy to the TV station. And now, we’re all cameramen….
