Film review: The Lobster

February 28, 2017

One of the odder films of recent times, Yorgos Lanthimos' The Lobster is dystopian and slightly surreal story of a society where single people have a limited time to find a partner or be transformed into an animal of their choice.  It received an Academy Award nomination for best original screenplay and won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015.  Was it too weird for the Weirdsphere?  There's just no way of knowing...
