In the UK £50 billion was spent on payment cards in March alone, but that figure is just a tiny fraction of the money moving around invisibly on a daily basis. The trillion of stock trades, oil trades, currency trades and inter company payments- all of it is managed by IT and financial technology; without it the world might just stop spinning. In Northern Ireland a growing number of firms are working in the fintech space, but how much potential does it really have here?"
