What team do you support?

Play it, or simply watch it, we’re captivated by sport. It’s big business.

It’s not the FIFA’s of this world who drive this multi-billion pound global industry- it’s you. The fans and part-time participants.

Even in little old Northern Ireland we consumers splash out around £700 million pounds a year on sport. That money spent on things like clothing, equipment, subscriptions and participation fees. That’s a decent chunk of change for such a small place.

Driving supporters and players-passion, enthusism and belief. So what lessons can the business world learn from athletes?

In the commentary box this week we have former Ulster rugby player Andy Park who now runs a sports management company. We also have Calvin Elfring from the Belfast Giants, Justin Urquhart Stewart from Seven Investment Managment and Nick Read, the business developement manager at the Ulster Business School. Our start-up is Basketball Direct.
