The Diaspora

February 20, 2015

We’ve a habit of sending some of most talented people away in this country. Emigration stirs deep and negative memories in Ireland, north and south.

But is it all bad?

We’ve all heard the success stories of the riches found in far off lands, often when those emigrants return at Christmas or for family occasions.

Are those people – the diaspora – a resource for our own economy in this increasingly inter-connected world?

Chances are they will want to help if asked.

So how can they help, and what should we ask for?

This week’s show features Jim Clerkin the CEO of Moët Hennessy USA, Ciaran McCallion from law firm Allen & Overy, Andrew Cowan from NI Connections and a chef from Tandragee who stars in a cookery show in China. Our start-up is Pingster.
