Everyone is focused on the fact Elon Musk is buying Twitter. It’s a huge deal to be sure. However, I’m more impressed with the capacity for which Musk has to dream, think and say ‘What if?’

At some point he saw the censorship at Twitter as a problem. What was his solution? He finally asked, ‘What if I buy Twitter and make it better?’ There was no whining on Twitter or in the press. There was action.

Dave Grohl

Dave Grohl realized at a young age (17 to be exact) he was not destined to be chained to a desk. He had no desire to be a cog in a wheel. So he quit school and became a musician. It wasn’t easy. He paid a price. He slept in a van, lived on $7.50 per day and maintained a diet of 3 corny dogs per day.

Eventually, he would be at the same place at the same time with one of his heros (Iggy Pop). He ended up playing a show with Iggy. What was the first thing Grohl did to manifest this amazing experience? He put himself out there. He got the ring.

I’m currently finishing up his book, ‘The Story Teller.’ It’s remarkable whether you are a Foo Fighters fan or not.

So much of life is just that. It’s making yourself available and seen for what you want to do. You don’t have the always have some great plan perfectly laid you. But you do have to get out and get started.

Zig Ziglar said it best. “You do have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.”

Happy Friday!
