76: Pierre Pilote-NHL

February 18, 2020

Pierre Pilote is not the first name that comes to mind when talking about the greatest defensemen to ever play in the NHL. Yet, he won the Norris Trophy three times, and helped turn around a team that had only qualified for the post season twice in the 10 years prior to his arrival in Chicago. But, with the Pilote in the lineup, Chicago made the Stanley Cup three times and won it in 1961. Co-author of the book, “Heart of the Blackhawks,” Waxy Gregoire joins the podcast to talk about Pierre Pilote.
