PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: Our topic for today is titled “The Rise of Antichrist, Part 1” from Dr. Ed Hindson’s book “Revelation: Unlocking the Future.”

In Revelation 13, two beasts rise on the prophetic scene. The first is the beast out of the sea, symbolizing the Antichrist. The second is the beast out of the earth, symbolizing the False Prophet. These two diabolical characters are empowered by Satan himself and with him form the satanic trinity. They are evil and deception personified. Together they will control the entire world in the Last Days—economically, politically, and religiously.

The great conflict of the End Times pits the unholy trinity (Satan, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet) against the holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). In particular, the two beasts called up by Satan become a threat to the survival of the whole world. The first arises from the sea—a grotesque seven-headed monster with ten horns. The second arises from the earth—less terrifying, but much more deceptive. Mounce writes, “Together with the dragon the two beasts constitute an unholy trinity of malicious evil.”

OCCUPY TILL I COME: We are continuing our journey through the book, “Coming Events and Present Duties,” by J.C. Ryle. This section is titled, “Watch” (Part 40) based on the parable of the foolish and wise virgins in Matthew 25:1-13. J.C. Ryle writes:

Go to Jesus first and foremost, if you would know what step to take. Think not to wait for repentance, and faith, and a new heart — but go to Him just as you are. Go to Him in prayer, and cry, “Lord save me — or I perish. I am weary of sleeping — I would sleep no longer.” Oh! awake, you that sleep, and Christ shall give you light.
