13: From Scraps to Empowerment with Charlene Espinoza (Bosh Bosh)

January 13, 2016

When Charlene applied for the Peace Corps, she had no idea it was a two year term of service. That tidbit of information definitely gave her pause. But with an invitation to serve in Africa, the country that she had her heart set on, she accepted and never looked back.

Not only did she extend her service to three years, now she goes back annual to Liberia. This is dues to the revolutionary company she created. A cross between a social enterprise, nonprofit and NGO, Bosh Bosh targeted sustainable measures to address the biggest issues facing Liberia. These were poverty, education and employment.

Listen in to hear how this instrumental company went from scraps, or "bosh bosh", to changing the face of sustainable empowerment.
