Masters Milers

Masters Milers

Christian Cushing-Murray

March 27, 2020

Today’s guest is Christian Cushing-Murray (aka Cush). I’ve been wanting to have him on the podcast for quite a while and we’ve never been able to get it on the calendar, but with schools closed, Cush suddenly had some time to record. Cush has been one of the top masters middle and long distance runners in the world for the past 10+. He holds the American record in the 1500 for the 45-49 age group with a time of 3:55. He also has had great success as a masters runner on the roads, most notably winning the masters race at the famous Carlsbad 5000 five times! When he was younger, Cush was an elite runner who competed for the Santa Monica Track Club. He has lifetime PRs in the mile of 3:55 and 3:37 for 1500.

The one caveat about this episode is that because so many people are currently sequestered at home, it’s putting a lot of stress on network bandwidth. As a result, the audio quality of this recording wasn’t always good, but I did my best to edit out the parts that were completely inaudible. I hope you enjoy and remember to subscribe and leave a review of the show if you have time.
