Masters Milers

Lynn Cooke

Intro

My guest today Lynn Cooke. Lynn is one of the top middle distance runners in the world in the 60-64 age group. Remarkably, Lynn only started running at age 50. She actually tried out for the track team when she was young and the coach told her she wasn’t fast enough – I wonder where that coach is now?! In 2018, Lynn set the American Record in the mile for the 55-59 age group when she was only 6 months away from entering the next age group. As someone who came to the sport later in life, she has some unconventional training techniques. I hope you enjoy our conversation.
